Whether you're a seasoned art enthusiast or simply looking for an enriching experience, TAM provides a welcoming and engaging environment for all. Prepare to be inspired by the creativity and talent on display. Founded in 1935, the Tacoma Art Museum has evolved from a small local art organization into a nationally recognized institution. Its permanent collection boasts significant holdings of Dale Chihuly's glass art, reflecting the region's artistic heritage. The museum's commitment to showcasing Northwest art provides a unique perspective on the region's history, culture, and environment. Through its exhibitions and programs, TAM strives to connect art with the community and foster a deeper understanding of the world around us. At TAM, you can explore a wide range of activities. Wander through the galleries and admire the diverse collection, attend a guided tour to learn more about the artwork, or participate in a hands-on art workshop. The museum also hosts special events, lectures, and film screenings throughout the year. Don't forget to visit the TAM Store for unique art-related gifts and souvenirs. While TAM doesn't have a dedicated culinary tradition, the surrounding downtown Tacoma area offers a variety of dining options to suit every taste.
